HOW DO I GET STARTED? XcellentWebs has many choices to help you get started on the web. There are only six simple steps in this process. Your first choice is a Domain Name or the name you wish to choose for your website, e.g. www.anyoneswebsite.com. If you have already chosen a name, we can check it for you and register it if it is avaliable. If it is not available, you will have to make another choice. With the intensive growth of the web, Domain names are getting more difficult to acquire. But, if your Domain name is already registered elswhere, we can transfer it easily for a small setup fee. The next step is to choose whether you want to lease or buy a website. This is relatively a simple decision...and to a large extent depends on whether you want to capitalize your investment or expense it. Of course, there are distinct tax advantages to leasing. Once you've chosen the lease or purchase route, your next step is website design. With our easy-to-use Design It Yourself (DIY) uBuilder website design tool you can design the website yourself or alternatively we can design your website for you. This decision depends on whether you have the time and motivation to spend designing the site yourself. This can be a rewarding experience for those who are creative and want to exercise total design control themselves. If designing it yourself is not for you, then we have three design packages to choose from, which depend on your personal preferencs and business use of your website. For example, if you wish to conduct e-commerce and be able to accept credit cards, then you would choose the Merchant Design Package. If you only wanted a website to provide your customers with information, then the Basic or Advanced Design Packages would be adequate.
